About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Botanica Orientalis (BOTOR) is an annual, peer-reviewed international journal with the aim to publish high quality original studies related to plant science. BOTOR is an official journal of Central Department of Botany, Tribhuvan University. BOTOR publishes original research papers, short communications, subject reviews, methodological insight, case reports, project briefings, and book reviews on all aspects plant science. However, articles having the potentiality to improve our understanding of Himalayan biodiversity from ecological, taxonomic, biogeographical, evolutionary, and ethnobotanical perspectives and with implications for their conservation and sustainable management are highly appreciated. 

Peer Review Process

Any contribution fulfilling the scope of the journal and meeting all the preconditions will be forwarded for rigorous peer review. Submitted manuscripts are therefore expected to meet standards of academic excellence. Reviewers will be selected as recommended by the editorial board. After acceptance, manuscripts may be edited for style and clarity. Proofs are sent to authors as a PDF file attached to an e-mail note.

Publication Frequency

Published annually.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
