Peer Review Process and Reviewers Guidelines
Peer review is an essential component of formal scholarly communication and lies at the heart of the scientific endeavor. BIBECHANA uses a single-blind review process. First, the chief editor screens the submissions to ensure that they are within the scope of the journal and are free of plagiarism. The manuscripts are then reviewed by section editors to ensure that they are appropriate. It takes about 10 to 15 days to complete this. The appropriate articles are sent to reviewers for content evaluation. Generally, we decide the acceptance and rejection of a manuscript on the basis of the report of two reviewers. In some cases three reviewers are used. The reviewers are both local and international experts.
The review process often takes between 2 to 3 months. The authors are given up to 45 days to complete the revisions recommended by the reviewers. It is anticipated that the publication process of the articles submitted to BIBECHANA be completed in 3 to 6 months. This process, however, depends on the reviewers' response time and the authors' revision period.
Guidelines for evaluating articles are provided to reviewers. The guidelines will assist reviewers be more specific in their review reports. Reviewers are expected to provide input on the novelty, originality, appropriateness, and validity of the work. It is requested that any invited reviewer who feels they will be unable to evaluate the work presented in an article or understands that timely review would be difficult notify the editors as soon as possible and decline the offer to review so that other reviewers can be invited. Reviewers who agree to review the article must submit their report within 25 days. If the report is not received within the deadline, reviewers are sent gentle remainders.
Author (s) must avoid the following misconducts in the submitted manuscript (s):
Multiple Submissions: It is unethical to submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time.
Fabrication or falsification: Making data without doing the study is fabrication and changing data in obtained results is a falsification.
Any violation of publication ethics is not tolerated. In case of violation detected the article will be retracted.
The use of previously published work by another author in one's own manuscript without consent, credit, or acknowledgment and fraudulently passing it as one's own work is referred to as plagiarism. The plagiarism detection is done by iThenticate. The matches found in each article after plagiarism detection are analyzed in detail and the editor makes a final decision in the light of the plagiarism detection report. The author(s) may be asked to correct in the article or the article may be returned to the author(s).
All listed authors must have made a significant scientific contribution (such as conception, design, execution, data acquisition, or analysis/interpretation of the study) to the research in the manuscript. Only persons who meet these authorship criteria should be listed as authors in the manuscript as they must be able to take public responsibility for the content. All persons who made substantial contributions to the work reported in the manuscript (such as technical help, writing and editing assistance, general support) but who do not meet the criteria for authorship must not be listed as an author, but should be acknowledged in the "Acknowledgements" section after their written permission to be named as been obtained. The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate coauthors (according to the above definition) and no inappropriate co-authors are included in the author list and verify that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the manuscript and agreed to its submission for publication.
