About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The Nepali Army is in a process of operating programs in various disciplines under National Defence University (NDU). This annual publication presents articles both in Nepali and English in these areas: national security and development; nationality and national unity; importance of geo-strategic position of Nepal; civil-military relations; military diplomacy. Topics of the papers include the Nepali Army’s role in peace and development, the Nepali Army in changing paradigms of democracy in Nepal, national security with proper food management, and civil–military relations in Nepal’s federal republican structure, among others. The Nepali Army, with its regular publications of such scholarly works, underscores the university's primary objectives of producing knowledge while inculcating in citizens' civil sense and cultural awareness in the best interest of nation building and institutional growth.

Publication Frequency

The journal is published annually.

Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo a process of an editorial screening, a double peer review and evaluation with the author’s name removed to meet the double-blind submission procedures while maintaining anonymity of the article.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Unity Journal hardcopies are distributed to government institutions, including security and academic free of cost. These copies reach major public and government libraries in colleges and universities as well as staff and individuals of related organizations.

The articles rest within the authority of the Nepali Army. Only with the Nepali Army's prior permission, can any article in whole or in part from this journal shall be reproduced in any form.
