Peer Review Process

Siddhajyoti Interdisciplinary Journal (SIJ) is a double blind peer reviewed journal. The submitted articles are screened by the editors as the first step of review. Then, the selected articles are sent to the peer reviewers to review them. Each article is sent to the two reviewers to review. The reviewers can reject the articles. Finally, the editorial board makes decision to publish the articles. It can also reject the articles.

Peer Review Policy

SIJ is a peer-reviewed journal that employs a double-blind peer-review system. The publication adheres to a meticulous screening, reviewing, editing, and proofreading process. Manuscript submissions are welcomed from scholars worldwide, and upon submission, a three-step procedure is implemented to determine the acceptance or rejection of articles.

First step

The initial decision on submitted articles is made by the editorial board within a week as the first stage of the review process. The editor-in-chief evaluates whether the submitted manuscripts adhere to the journal's Author Guidelines. If a manuscript fails to meet these guidelines, the author is notified that the manuscript cannot proceed to the peer-review process, along with reasons for its non-acceptance. On the other hand, if the manuscript complies with the author guidelines, we conduct a plagiarism check, and if the similarity is below 20%, the manuscript is accepted for peer review. The author is then informed of its acceptance into the review process.

Second step

The manuscript that has been accepted for the review process undergoes a blinded review and is forwarded to two relevant reviewers. The review is conducted using a track-change format, accompanied by feedback at the top of the manuscript. If either of the reviewers recommends rejection, the manuscript is rejected. In the case where both reviewers propose major or minor revisions, the review reports are shared with the author, who is requested to revise the manuscript based on the feedback. Failure to complete the revision or address the required changes may result in the rejection of the manuscript.

Third step

Upon the author's resubmission of the revised manuscript, we verify the incorporation of addressed comments. If all comments are satisfactorily addressed, we proceed to edit the manuscript for language and style. Following editing, the document is sent to the designer for the final layout. Once the layout is completed, we provide the authors with a PDF for verification of any errors. If the author confirms that the document is accurate, we obtain DOIs from NepJOL and incorporate them into the articles. Finally, we publish the articles through NepJOL and also in printed form.

Rejection can occur during the initial editorial review, after the plagiarism checking phase, or following the review report assessment.
