Current Trend of using Technology in Management
Abstract
The management discipline is experiencing a major shift as new technologies rapidly reshape how organizations operate. Tools such as digital platforms, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, blockchain, and cloud computing have moved from the margins to the core of managerial decision-making and strategic planning. By leveraging these technologies, managers can boost efficiency, stimulate innovation, and react more swiftly to changing market conditions (Brynjolfsson & McAfee, 2014).
A key aspect of this change is the emergence of data-centric management. Predictive analytics and machine learning help firms forecast customer behavior, streamline supply chains, and improve human resource management (Marr, 2018). In parallel, blockchain is transforming transparency and trust in finance and logistics (Tapscott & Tapscott, 2016). The Covid-19 crisis further sped up the use of remote work tools, making digital collaboration platforms vital for maintaining productivity and global links (Choudhury, et al., 2020).
For organizations and universities in Nepal, keeping pace with these technological shifts is crucial for sustaining global competitiveness. Embedding digital technologies into management practices strengthens resilience and supports long-term growth. As the field progresses, technology will continue to act both as a catalyst and a foundation for innovation. In this context, the journal aims to serve as a forum where researchers and practitioners can examine these connections and integrate theoretical insights with real-world managerial practice in the digital era.
