Abstract

Food is one of the basic needs of people. However, many people in the world including Nepal have been facing the problem of food insecurity. Food insecurity is a threat to social and political stability. However, the main problem of food security is the inability of people to acquire enough food due to the lack of purchasing power. This article, therefore, examines the nature and causes of food insecurity in Nepal and suggests policy measures to get rid of food insecurity problem, both transitory and chronic.
