About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The aim of New Journey is to disseminate new knowledge from research studies. The multidisciplinary peer review journal publishes papers in the following areas:

  1. Social sciences, arts and humanities: Rural Development, Economics, Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science, management research, Population and Migration, etc.
  2. Educational research
  3. Linguistic research (we accept both the medium, English and Nepali)
  4. Indigenous research
  5. Encourages various intra and interdisciplinary collaborations
  6. Inter-universities and international collaborations are highly encouraged.

Publication Frequency

New Journey publishes one volume per year.

Open Access Policy

New Journey provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Peer Review Policy

Two reviewers are involved: one is an internal reviewer and the other is an external reviewer. A single blind reviewer reviews the manuscript before the acceptance for publication process. The review process takes at least two months, and the authors are provided with the comments of the experts if the manuscript is accepted by editorial board based on the reviewers’ suggestions. The final decision is declared by editorial board of the journal.

Urlabari Multiple Campus arranges the funds for publication of the journal. Other financial sources are under plan.

Urlabari Multiple Campus

Urlabari Multiple Campus (UMC here in after) is a non-profit higher education institution, affiliated to Tribhuvan University for its academic activities. UMC was established in 2043 BS as a community campus in order to fulfill the scarcity of acquiring higher education in this region. At the inception, the local donors, educationists, politicians and social workers contributed their level best by donating financially as well as morally and physically to charity to set up this campus. At the beginning, this campus used to inculcate courses under Proficiency Certificate Level to the students. UMC had started its educational expedition in the building of Radhika Secondary School since it did not have its own land and building infrastructures. After the Aaitabare Bazaar Management assigned the ownership of the land located in Urlabari – 4 to UMC, it started to grow in its own land and building infrastructures since 2050 BS. Today, UMC owns 2 Bigha, 3 Kathha and 17.3 Dhur land and it is also gradually acquiring sustainability for building and other infrastructures.

UMC is situated in a prime location some 150 meters north of the East-West national highway in Urlabari Municipality of Morang and it is about 50.9 km northeast from the provincial capital, Biratnagar. It is imparting higher education up to master’s degree in three streams namely Education, Management and Humanities and Social Sciences. UMC owns campus buses and two are hired for the smooth transportation of the students who come to the campus from various locations of the neighboring municipalities and rural municipalities. About two thousand students have been enrolled in the fiscal year. UMC is working with a battling spirit for acquiring QAA Award from UGC Nepal. It conducts different extracurricular activities and events for extension and outreach for the all-round personality development of the students.
