About the Journal
INTRODUCTION
Nepalese Linguistics is a peer-reviewed journal published by Linguistic Society of Nepal (LSN). Since 1980, this journal has been published annually. It contains research papers contributed by linguists from home and abroad in diverse sub-disciplines of linguistics. Moreover, entertains the articles in both core, applied and interdisciplinary areas of linguistics viz. phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, language teaching, psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, lexicography, translation studies, cognitive science, historical linguistics, language planning and policy, language situation, linguistic archaeology, corpus linguistics, computational linguistics, language typology, and many other fields related to language and linguistics.
VISION OF THE JOURNAL
The vision of Nepalese Linguistics is to promote the linguistic diversity of Nepal and South Asia for sustaining linguistic ecology by providing a common forum for dissemination of research findings in the diverse fields of linguistics to the whole linguistic community of the world.
MISSION OF THE JOURNAL
The mission of Nepalese Linguistics is to encourage the young as well as experienced linguists from home and abroad to be engaged in the linguistic research of the endangered languages of Nepal and South Asia and support the people to be involved in the community-based language activities appropriate to the current vitality of the languages they speak as mother tongues.
GOALS OF THE JOURNAL
There are two main goals of Nepalese Linguistics. The first goal is to publish research articles contributed by the scholars from home and abroad based on their original researches mostly presented and discussed in the International Conference of Linguistic Society of Nepal and other conferences on the different aspects of the languages of Nepal and South Asia. The second goal is to encourage the scholars to help the community to devise language development activities for uplifting the endangered languages of Nepal and South Asia for their sustainable orality and literacy.
PEER REVIEW POLICY
The authors are notified to send their manuscripts following the guidelines given in the Call for Articles (CFA). The manuscript is sent to at least two reviewers based on their expertise; and the reviewers are requested to send their report within two weeks. If necessary, the authors are notified to re-submit the revised paper addressing the comments made by the reviewers within two months. The revised paper is sent to the respective reviewers to know their view about the potentiality for acceptance. Looking at the decision of the reviewers, the final decision of the acceptance of the paper is taken by the editorial board. The authors are solely responsible for the views expressed in their papers.
PUBLICATION FREQUENCY
Nepalese Linguistics is published one issue a year.

No processing fee is charged to the authors for this journal.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
PRICE FOR HARD COPIES
A printed copy of the journal will be provided to each of the authors and reviewers of the Journal free of cost. For others there is a charge per issue: NPR 400/- for Nepali citizens, NPR 560/- for SAARC region citizens and US $ 10 for the citizens from other countries.

The source for publication support is the fund raised by Linguistic Society of Nepal (LSN).
