The Journal of the Plant Protection Society publishes original research findings in the field of plant protection (Entomology, Plant Pathology and Weed Science). In addition, it also includes research notes, short communications and book reviews. Manuscripts from both within and outside the organization/ country shall be considered for publication in the journal.
The journal is published annually.
The Journal of the Plant Protection Society maintains a roaster of peer reviewers by circulating an email to its members and other related professional societies requesting if someone is interested to join as peer reviewer of the journal’s manuscripts.
Once the journal receives a manuscript, the responsible member of editorial board quickly scans whether the manuscript will be sent for peer review or not. If the manuscript does not meet minimum quality standards such as style of writing/formatting, number of treatments, number of replication, etc as stated in the author’s/reviewer’s guideline, the manuscript will be rejected or sent back to the authors for revision before the review process. The manuscripts which satisfy minimum quality standards will be sent for peer review process to the reviewer along with an evaluation form.
Generally, the reviewers are requested to submit their comments within a month. Based on the suggestions/ recommendations from the peer reviewers, the editorial board may take any of the following three decisions- accept, accept after major/minor revision and reject and will communicate to the respective authors accordingly.
The revised manuscript will be accepted if the authors have incorporated all the suggestions from the reviewer. However, the manuscript will be rejected if the comments are not incorporated properly. The whole process takes about four months.
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
The hard copy will be charged as per the following categories. However, the content on the website is available free of cost.
