About the Journal
Focus and Scope
The Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA), Nepal has the pleasure to announce an initiative to publish peer-reviewed journal entitled "Journal of Foreign Affairs (JoFA)". In this regard, the JoFA is inviting submissions of abstracts, to be edited by one or more knowledgeable and experienced editors. The publication concentrates on the intersections of scholarship/theory and policy/practice related to International Relations. Abstracts should provide reflection on one or more of the following themes or bring up themes closely related with them.
- Neighborhood Policy and Diplomacy
- Nepal’s Relations with Great and Emerging Powers
- Unleashing Nepal’s Soft Power
- Nepal in United Nations
- Nepal’s Multilateral and Regional Diplomacy
- Practices of International Relations in Nepal
- International Law
- National Interest and National Security
- Emerging Issues: Climate Change, Cyber Security, Science Diplomacy, Diaspora and Labour Migration
IFA especially encourages submissions that include authors from the realms of Foreign Affairs, Diplomacy, Political Economy, International Relations and Current Strategic Affairs, the primary disciplines of JoFA as well as submissions that include diverse groups of authors in terms of gender, race, location and stage of career progression.
Publication Frequency
The journal is published annually in January.
Peer-Review Process
Journal of Foreign Affairs (JoFA) follows a double blind peer review process, where the identity of authors and reviewers won’t be revealed to each other. Generally, the review involves two to four subject experts.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
