Challenges of political change for disadvantaged communities in Dailekh, Nepal

Abstract

This paper examines the challenges the disadvantaged communities of remote hills of Nepal facing for structural changes they wish for years. The disadvantaged communities do not have conducive social spaces that provide best opportunity for their growth and development. The schema approach has played customary roles in polluting the better scenario of society that could scarcely provide equal grounds for all for their happiness. Only rational capabilities will replace social and political obscurities from Nepali society. The causes of this study are to find out the challenges for the structural change in Nepal. The philosophy for this study is Marxism and approach is interpretivist. It is a qualitative study and the data were collected from personal communication and focus group discussions. Sampling is purposive and the sample size is 25 that includes members from brahmin, kshatriya and Dalits communities in Dailekh district in Karnali province. The participation of the disadvantaged communities in democratic process of Nepal is delimitation of this study which is significant for the inquisitive individuals that have keen interests in social sciences and equal justice.
