This paper examines how female traders in Nepal experience volatility in the stock market and how they deal with the stress and uncertainty it brings. In order to understand this problem, qualitative descriptive methodology has been used in this research, where one female trader in Kathmandu was examined through in-depth semi-structured interviews, and thematic analysis of data was performed. The research results demonstrate that volatility is not only a financial but also emotional and social experience for women. The participant described the psychosomatic stress, like anxiety, insomnia, and physical discomfort. Volatility of the stock market had a negative effect on her personal life, causing irritability and the tendency to hide financial losses from her family. To cope with volatility, the participant used avoidance, emotional detachment, and social support. She also became more cautious in her investment decisions over time. Thus, it can be concluded that trading behavior depends on many aspects, including emotional and social as well as gender issues.
