Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) has significantly transformed contemporary society, and the field of education has been no exception to this development. Legal education, in particular, is increasingly being influenced by AI technologies, which are reshaping conventional teaching and learning practices and redefining aspects of legal training and professional preparation. At the same time, international legal and regulatory discourse has begun to respond to the growing presence of AI through the development of emerging governance frameworks. In Bangladesh, although the integration of AI into legal education and legal practice remains at a relatively early stage, its influence is becoming increasingly visible in areas such as legal research, document review, contract analysis, and other functions that are gradually transforming the legal profession. Against this backdrop, this article examines the role of AI in legal education, with particular emphasis on its development within the legal field. It further analyzes the evolving regulatory framework governing AI at both the national and international levels. In addition, the article situates this discussion within the Bangladeshi context, exploring how AI is gradually being introduced into legal education and how law schools may incorporate this technology to better prepare students for the changing demands of legal practice. Drawing on a qualitative analysis of existing literature, the study also identifies the principal risks and challenges associated with the use of AI in legal education and proposes measures to address those concerns in a manner consistent with legal and ethical standards.
