Abstract

Welcome to the latest issue of the Shikshak Journal (Vol. 18, No. 1, 2026). As a peer-reviewed academic publication, the journal provides a platform for educators, researchers, and policymakers to share empirical evidence, theoretical perspectives, and innovative practices. Our aim is to strengthen the connection between educational research and classroom practice while engaging with contemporary socio-educational challenges.

This issue brings together seventeen research papers covering diverse themes, including technology and artificial intelligence, pedagogy, mathematics education, language and literature, inclusive education, environmental education, public health, adolescent well-being, and economic development.

Several papers examine the growing role of technology and AI in education and research, including digital technology adoption in higher education, students’ digital readiness, and innovative applications of deep learning for flood detection in Nepal. Other contributions explore student-centered and culturally responsive pedagogy, mathematics education, gender equity, language of instruction, and inclusive education for students with disabilities.

The issue also presents valuable studies on English language learning, Nepal’s linguistic diversity, academic writing in Nepali, and literary criticism. In addition, papers address environmental education and waste management, non-communicable diseases, menstrual health and adolescent well-being, sexual health among college students, and the contribution of education to economic development.
