रमेश विकलको 'नयाँ सडकको गीत' कथामा सीमान्तीयता {Marginality in Ramesh Vikal’s Narrative “The Song of New Road”}

Abstract

प्रस्तुत आलेख कथाकार रमेश विकलद्वारा रचित ‘नयाँ सडकको गीत’ कथामा प्रयुक्त सीमान्तीयता अध्ययनमा केन्द्रित छ । सीमान्तीयता दोस्रो विश्वयुद्धपछिको विश्वमा मानव समुदायसम्बद्ध हरेक विषयलाई हेर्ने नवीन चिन्तन तथा दृष्टिकोणका रूपमा विकसित सांस्कृतिक अध्ययनको एउटा अवधारणा हो । यसै सिद्धान्तका आधारमा यस लेखमा विकलको कथाको विश्लेषण गरिएको छ । कथामा समाज र राज्यबाट बहिष्करणमा परेको, उपेक्षित र अस्तित्वविहीन जीवन बाँच्ने, नयाँ सडकको फुटपाथमा मागेर जीवनयापन गर्ने दृष्टिविहीन पात्र माग्ने र उसको श्रीमती सानीका कष्टपूर्ण जीवन भोगाइलाई प्रस्तुत गरिएको छ । सीमान्तीय अध्ययनका सैद्धान्तिक पर्याधार, पुस्तकालयीय कार्यमा आधारित भई प्राथमिक र द्वितीयक स्रोतका सामग्रीको उपयोग, गुणात्मक र पाठविश्लेषणात्मक अनुसन्धान पद्धतिको प्रयोग गरी यस लेखलाई पूर्णता दिइएको छ । मूलतः सीमान्तीय पक्षहरूमा वर्गीय, आर्थिक आधार, लैङ्गिक आधार, सांस्कृतिक आधार, सीमान्त वर्गको स्थान अर्थात् प्रतिरोधको अवस्था र सीमान्त वर्गप्रति लेखकीय दृष्टिकोण जस्ता अभिलक्षणहरूको आधारमा कथाको निरूपण गर्नु यस अध्ययनको मूल उद्देश्य वा समस्या हो । अनुसन्धानबाट प्रस्तुत कथाका पात्रहरू आवाजविहीन र निरीह देखिन्छन् । यी पात्रहरू वर्षौदेखि राज्यपक्षबाट उपेक्षित र शोषित छन् । उनीहरूको उद्दारका लागि सम्बन्धित पक्ष जिम्मेवार बन्न सकेको छैन । कथाको प्रमुख सीमान्तीय पात्र माग्नेले अप्रत्यक्ष रूपमा प्रभुत्वशालीवर्गसँग प्रतिरोध गरेको छ । {The present paper focuses on the study of marginality in Ramesh Vikal’s “The Song of New Road”. Marginality is a concept to study every aspect of human society which was developed after the second world war. Against this backdrop, this paper has analyzed Vikal’s narrative. The narrative has depicted the life experiences of a blind beggar and his wife named Sani who have marginalized from the society and state, and lived the lives of ignored and non-existent, begging on the footpath of New Road. The study has adopted qualitative and textual-analysis methods, using the theoretical framework of marginality theory and primary and secondary sources based on the library research. The main objective of the study is to formulate the dimensions of marginality such as class, economy, gender, culture and resistance, and the perspective of the author. In this study, the characters of the narrative are depicted as voiceless and helpless. They are neglected and exploited by the state for years. To protect them, the concerned authorities are not responsible. Overall, the beggar has indirectly resisted the dominant group.}
