Abstract

Isolated duodenal injury following blunt abdominal trauma is rare and diagnostically challenging, requiring a high index of clinical suspicion. Early diagnosis and treatment is mandatory and further leads to decreased morbidity and mortality. We herein present a case of a 34-years-old male with an alleged history of trauma from a high-speed road traffic accident who was diagnosed with isolated duodenal injury following a contrast-enhanced computed tomography scan of the abdomen, and pelvis. Primary repair of the duodenal laceration was done.
