Abstract

This research paper analyses the impact of work-life balance on job satisfaction among the service sector employees. Employee job satisfaction is the dependent variable, while welfare policies, flexible work arrangements, work-family conflict, and leave policies are the independent variables in this study. A quantitative cross-sectional survey research design was used in this study among employees working in the service sector of Kanchanpur, Nepal. This research paper is based on primary data collected from employees working in various organisations in the service sector in Kanchanpur, such as banks, schools, colleges, hotels, hospitals, information technology companies, and insurance companies. The total sample size involved in this research was 320 respondents. The data collection method used in this study was a structured questionnaire with questions measured on the five-point Likert scale. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were applied. Based on the results of the correlation analysis, welfare policies, flexible work arrangements, and leave policies have a positive and significant relationship with job satisfaction, whereas work-family conflict has a negative and significant relationship with job satisfaction. Regression analysis showed that welfare policies, flexible work arrangements, and leave policies have a positive and significant effect on employees' job satisfaction. In contrast, work-family conflict has a significant negative effect on job satisfaction. The research indicates that work-family conflict is the primary factor affecting job satisfaction among employees in the service industry. Therefore, various recommendations have been formulated to help enhance employee well-being and job satisfaction.
