Abstract

This research article explores the moral and environmental dimensions of the portrayal of non-human beings from an ecocritical perspective. This analysis   stems from the growing recognition that anthropocentric perspectives have traditionally marginalized nonhuman animals, reducing them to objects of human utility while denying the reality of their suffering. The major objectives of the study are to explore ethical and philosophical principles presented in the essay, to explicate the author’s objection to the conventional philosophical assumptions about the superiority of humans over animals, and to examine the manifestation of anthropocentric ideology in the text. The researcher used qualitative research approach study in which interpretative method was used for the analysis of the text.  Tom Regan ‘s animal rights theory was used to analyze the primary text.  With the help of close reading, the researcher explored the suffering of animals, its manifestation, ethical responsibility, and environmental justice, locating these issues within broader debates concerning human–animal relations and ecological sustainability. The result drawn from the investigation was that it highlighted the importance of the defense of animal welfare.  It concluded that advocacy for animal reframes human-animal relationship and provides transformative framework for ecological awareness Ethical consideration, justice and the advocacy of the animal rights are necessary beyond the human realm.
