Abstract

In this study, influence of career attitude of employees on work engagement is examined. Structural equation modeling was used on a sample of 444 executives from Chemical industries for analysis. Results show that self-directed career attitude contributes significantly towards work engagement. The influence of value driven career attitude was not significant and psychological mindset career attitude was negatively related to work engagement. This finding has implications for organizations in planning recruitment and HR strategies for employees.

Sangeeta Sahu is an Associate Professor in the Human Resource Management at Purvanchal University, India. She has a long experience in teaching and research. She published a number of research papers in various national and international journals. She holds a Ph.D. degree too. Her area of interests in research includes performance drivers, organization commitment, employer branding, employee engagement, career, work engagement mainly in service and manufacturing organizations.
