Author Guidelines

The following style instructions should be followed in manuscripts submitted for publication of the Journal of Nepalese Business Studies.

  1. All submitted manuscripts must be original work that is not under submission at another journal or under consideration for publication in another form, such as a monograph or chapter of a book. Authors of submitted papers are obligated not to submit their paper for publication elsewhere until an editorial decision is rendered on their submission. Further, authors of accepted papers are prohibited from publishing the results in other publications that appear before the paper is published in the Journal unless they receive approval for doing so from the editorial board.
  2. Manuscripts must be clearly typed with 1.5 spacing throughout. The font size should be 12 points. The left, right, top and bottom margin should be 1.25", 1", 1.25" and 1" respectively.
  3. The cover page shall contain the title of the manuscript, and an abstract of not more than 100 words. The title page should include the names of the authors, their affiliations, or any other identifying information.
  4. The introductory section must have no heading or number. Subsequent headings should be given with Arabic numerals and separated by periods.
  5. The article should end with a non-technical summary statement of the main conclusions. Lengthy mathematical proofs and very extensive detailed tables should be replaced in an appendix or omitted entirely.
  6. Author date system (box system) of documentation should be followed throughout the article.
  7. Tables must be numbered with Arabic numerals. Please check that your text contains reference to each table. Indicate, if your tables are not compatible with portrait orientation in the text, approximately where each table should be placed. Each landscape-oriented table should be typed on a separate page at the end of the paper.
  8. Figures must be numbered with Arabic numerals. All figure captions must be typed in double space on a separate sheet following the footnotes. A figure’s title should be part of the caption.
  9. All but very short mathematical expressions should be displayed on a separate line and centred. Equations must be numbered consecutively on the right.
  10. Article should not exceed 5000 words. The article exceeding this limit will not be considered for publication.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. When available, the URLs to access references online are provided, including those for open access versions of the reference. The URLs are ready to click (e.g., http://pkp.sfu.ca).
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review) have been followed.
